The Bahamas are just a hop skip and a jump away from our home state, Floridaand as frequent cruisers, we get to visit often. The Bahamas are a truly beautiful chain of islands full of gorgeous beaches, exciting history, and of course, rum. When many people think about the Bahamas, they think of the capital, Nassau, which is located on the island of New Providence. However, the chain consists of an impressive 700 islands and cays.
Select an Island
Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas
Nassau is the port most frequented by cruisers. Some of the highlights of Nassau include The Pirate Museum, Parliament Square, Fort Fincastle, and of course, the beach. The beaches here are pristine! We’re talking sugary white sand, turquoise water, and gorgeous palm trees.
Atlantis, Paradise Island, The Bahamas
Atlantis is an ocean-themed resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas- just a short water taxi ride from Nassau. In short, it is remarkable. The beaches here are top notch and the resort offers an incredible pool and lazy river. Some of the resort, like the casino, is free to explore.
Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas
Half Moon Cay is also known as Little San Salvador Island. It is a private island owned and developed by Carnival Cruise Lines. The island has several water toys available for rent including catamarans, sailboats, sailboards, kayaks, paddleboards, etc. You can also rent a clamshell, cabana or beach villa. All of these can be charged to your Sail & Sign card. I strongly suggest booking cabanas and beach villas in advance.
